By John Grey
You can read it in an hour
and spend the rest of your life
being inspired by it.
Congratulations.
Chapter one tells you
exactly what your hands
are capable of.
In chapter two,
there’s room for
a whole range of expressions
to cloud what you’re really up to.
The third chapter deals with conscience
and this can be skipped over.
Likewise, the fourth
where all manner of Gods are invoked.
The fact is
you didn’t really need the book at all.
Except, of course,
for chapter five
which lists the numerous things
you might say
should the law come calling.
My favorite is “The book made me do it.”
The book is worth the cover price
for that suggestion alone.
